Integral Treatment of Varicose Veins | IVEI method

EXCELLENT AND EFFECTIVE RESULTS, WITHOUT SURGERY

The elimination of varicose veins is one of the greatest aesthetic and health concerns that we have in our vascular clinic in Marbella in the province of Malaga. Varicose diseases are considered one of the most frequent diseases in developed countries, and affect -only in Spain- more than 10 million people. Regardless of the importance that genetics plays in favoring the appearance of varicose veins, there are other factors that precipitate and / or worsen such as, for example, standing for many hours.

A few years ago, varicose veins were eliminated exclusively with surgery although, nowadays, advances in vascular treatments for aesthetic and pathological varicose veins make it possible to treat them in a less invasive manner, thus eliminating varicose veins without surgery. Below we show you the most outstanding treatments that at Clínica Vascular Marbella (Málaga) allow us to eliminate varicose veins successfully and in the least invasive way for patients.

Types of varicose veins

AESTHETIC VARICOSE VEINS:

Telangiectasias

The so-called spider veins or telangiectasias are the least aggressive, since they are superficial and usually do not pose any risk to health, in addition to the sensation of heaviness in the legs. Generally they do not carry more problem than the aesthetic one.

Reticular varicose veins

The reticular varicose veins are distributed in a grid pattern over the subdermal tissue, and do not imply a significant risk to health. In some cases, however, if they constitute a very extensive grid, they can cause more relevant symptoms and affect health, causing venous insufficiency in other segments such as the pelvis.

PATHOLOGICAL VARICOSE VEINS:

Truncal varicose veins

The truncal varicose veins are usually painful and large, and are those that are generated by the failure of saphenous trunks; requiring in this case the application of treatments for its definitive elimination.

Varicose ulcers

Varicose ulcers are the most serious degree of venous disease, in which the superficial tissue is damaged. They are usually located in the ankle area and their cause is usually severe venous insufficiency in some of the major veins of the superficial tissues. They are very difficult to heal if they are not stopped in time, since they are large and usually quite painful.

Our Method to eliminate Varicose Veins

DIAGNOSIS

As in any pathology, prior and specialized diagnosis is crucial to plan the treatment to be followed. The method used in Clínica Vascular Marbella to perform this diagnosis is the color Doppler ultrasound, a very advanced technique that allows to carry out the treatment with great precision.

SERIATION OF THE TREATMENT

To avoid undesirable complications and improve treatment results, you should always start with those venous problems that pose a greater risk to the patient; so the pathological varicose veins of major importance, should be treated in the first place.

SELECTIVE TECHNOLOGY

Another fundamental point in our procedures is that, regardless of the type of venous pathology we face, we use the latest techniques to ensure our patients the best result, through a completely personalized treatment and as effective as possible.

Echotherapy with SONOVEIN® is the only 100% non-invasive method for the treatment of varicose veins.

NO INCISIONS

NO SCARS

INMEDIATE RETURN TO DAILY ACTIVITIES

SONOVEIN®

A therapeutic ultrasound system (Echotherapy) for the treatment of varicose veins.

HOW DOES HIFU WITH SONOVEIN® WORK FOR VARICOSE VEINS?

Imagine a magnifying glass that concentrates the sun’s rays on a single point. SONOVEIN® works the same way, concentrating high intensity therapeutic ultrasound waves (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound / HIFU). The treatment is totally extracorporeal, i.e. it does not invade the patient’s body at all.

Ultrasound Head

Comparable to the sun's rays through a magnifying glass, ultrasound waves are grouped together.

Therapeutic ultrasound

It is similar to diagnostic ultrasound but with greater intensity.

Varicose Veins

Ultrasound only targets the diseased vein.

Focal point

The vein heats up, causing it to shrink and close.

CAUSES OF VARICOSE VEINS: VENOUS REFLUX

If the veins around the leg muscles are healthy, the elastic structure of the vein walls and the venous valves ensure that the blood is transported from the legs to the upper body against gravity.

If the venous valves no longer function properly or the elasticity of the vessel walls decreases, the so-called venous reflux, i.e. pooling of blood in the legs, occurs. This blood spreads to the walls of the veins and varicose veins (also called varicose veins) appear.

The consequences can be pain, swollen or heavy legs, skin changes or ulcers. If left untreated, such symptoms can worsen over time.

WHEN IS SONOVEIN® RIGHT FOR ME?

  • You suffer from visible varicose veins in one or both legs.
  • Your legs often feel heavy and / or itchy.
  • You would like to have your varicose veins removed without surgery, without an operating room, without chemicals, without preoperative surgery.
  • You have received treatment for your varicose veins and were notsatisfied with the results.
  • You are looking for a treatment method that will allow you to return immediately to your daily life.

OTHER TREATMENTS

Sclerotherapy with Microfoam VARIXIO®

Sclerotherapy of varicose veins using microfoam is the technique that currently offers the most effectiveness in the treatment of varicose veins. It consists of a chemical sclerosis that is made by injecting into the vein to treat a microfoam, causing the vein to “burn” on the inside and remove the varix permanently.

The procedure has two strong points; on the one hand, the high density of the foam, which increases the direct contact between the microfoam and the venous endothelial tissue, which improves the effects of the treatment, and on the other hand the minimum concentration of applied substance, which means that the post-treatment results are not so uncomfortable for the patient and improves the aesthetic results.

VARIXIO represents a step forward and the new generation of sclerotherapy for several reasons

It is an automated and standardized system that eliminates the variability of manual systems and improves the quality of the resulting foam.

Quality and standardization.

Endovenous Mechanical-Chemical Ablation | MOCA

Flebogrif® is a new minimally invasive, safe and effective method to treat varicose veins without surgery and without pain.

Mechanical-chemical endovenous ablation (Flebogrif®) is a novel treatment system for saphenous trunks that has the advantage of not requiring tumescent or epidural anesthesia for treatment. The system is carried out by means of eco-guided control, which is why it presents extraordinary safety.

Technique ambulatory and painless

Completely eliminates the risk of damaging the nerves and pain caused by heat beacuse it lacks of thermal action, such as when using the technique with Laser or Radio Frequency, allowing a quick recovery with an excellent cosmetic result that lasts.

Flebogrif® is a minimally invasive method to treat varicose veins in less than 30 minutes, without surgery and without pain, with which in most cases you can restart your daily activities without problem after treatment.

Sealing of saphenous trunks with biological glue| VenaSeal® Method

The sealing of saphenous trunks with biological glues is currently the treatment with the most promising results, even compared with the good results obtained by means of heat ablations. It treats of a revolutionary treatment that supposes a minimum invasion on the patient, since it does not require of surgical intervention and only requires of local anesthesia. It consists in the definitive sealing of the saphenous vein from which varicose veins originate. And in our clinics it is already applied to patients who require it.

What are its advantages and disadvantages?
